My fiscal policy cuts across party lines. I have a proven record of fiscal responsibility.

 

I voted AGAINST the state budget, twice, because it did not adequately address major fiscal problems in our state.

I also voted AGAINST contracts that increase salaries for state employees because we can't authorize more spending until we reconcile current expenses and revenues.

 

I also proposed and advocated for tax cuts - including eliminating the estate and gift tax.

And I proposed a comprehensive solution to the infrastructure crisis that handicaps our state from attracting the businesses it should. 

My solution would have enabled CT to draw millions in new revenue from non-CT residents. And would have enabled the state to access billions in private sector funding. And would have made CT eligible for a $100,000,000 Infrastructure Bank grant from the federal government. The plan would have created an independent and sustainable funding source to transform and modernize our roads, rails, ports and energy systems so that YOUR TAX DOLLARS would NOT have to be used for fixing potholes.  This plan would have REDUCED YOUR TAXES significantly.
